Conservative people I know are busy trying to figure out how to save the money they have, their homes and their jobs. Because of the failures of President Bush and the Republican Congress, they've lost faith in political solutions, particularly those involving the Republican party. They're retracting, conserving and buying guns and ammo - not demonstrating in the street.

Obama should not have simply said "I won". This is true. But you incorrectly implied that George Bush WOULD have been pilloried if he had said the same. Truth is, he pretty much DID say the same thing after the '04 election when he stated that he had collected "political capital and intended to spend it". What political capitol? He got 50.73% of the vote!!! What incredible chutzpah...
